Cenote Saamal is part of a newer commercial complex called Hacienda Selva Maya with vendors and a buffet. Visitors pay at the reception office next to the parking lot, and then are directed through a collection of small buildings and past the restaurant to the cenote area.

Cenote Saamal is a large open-aired sinkhole, with swallows and bats living beneath the limestone shelf above. There are jumping platforms and a low deck, while the water is dark and cold. Life jackets are mandatory, and included in the admission price. Cenote Saamal and Hacienda Selva Maya are open daily from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Admission is MX$80.
