This loop hike is located west of Winthrop, WA.  The is a trailhead on Route 20 which is a vary large pullout and a kiosk where to start.  There is a short trail from the parking area to Jack's Trail.  This is a wide dirt path often used by trail runners and mountain bikers.  Turn left onto Jack's Trail.  After .5 miles, the trail becomes more rocky but remains wide.  This wide dirt path parallels Arrowleaf Road.

At the 2.5 mile mark, the trail exits the forest to the approach to Early Winter's Wildlife Area and a wide open field.  There is great views of Goat Wall and Monument Peak and the Pasayten Wilderness.  The trail traverses this open field past Cassal Ranch for one mile until behind the ranch.  Jack's Trail continue back for another mile until the trail turns sharply and descends to the Methow River.

Once down at the river, the River Run trail begins.  The trail does not follow too closely to the river.  The trail continues through open fields with great views for 1.75 miles.  The trail then become closer to the Methow River for more great views.  At the 7.3 mile mark, the trail crosses Cassal Ranch road and rejoins Jack's Trail.  Continue until reaches the access path back to the trailhead.
