Dutch Hollow Trail System Mountain Biking

The Dutch Hollow Trail System is a network of mountain biking, hiking, and equestrian trails located in beautiful Midway, Utah. Located within the Wasatch Mountain State Park, the trail system consists of many wide open tracks in the lower elevations that become tighter and more technical as you climb. There is a bunch of singletrack for the mountain bikers in addition to wide roads that are better suited for horses. Dogs are welcome and love the open terrain here, but keep a close eye on them because there can be some danger with downhill bikers and horses on the trail.

Gooseberry Mesa Mountain Biking: South Rim, Hidden Canyon + White Trail

Everyone has different motivations to ride, and everyone looks for something different in a trail. If technical cross-country mountain biking is your thing, Gooseberry Mesa is the perfect trail system for you. It offers miles and miles of slickrock, tightly twisting juniper runs, and stunning views, all of which have earned Gooseberry Mesa a place among the world's great mountain biking destinations.

Big Mountain Trail Mountain Bike Ride

Big Mountain Trail is a newer addition to the mountain bike trails at Snowbird resort. Although the trail is accessible by climbing a number of fire roads or other trails, Snowbird’s tram makes those options seem more like punishment than anything else. You will be more than grateful for the quick and scenic ride to the nearly 11,000-foot Snowbird Ridge.

Mueller Park Trail Mountain Bike Ride to Big Rock

The Mueller Park Trail offers a great change in pace from most of the mountain bike rides in the Salt Lake City area. It’s low elevation keeps it open late season, but the thick tree cover keeps it cool during the summer. The trail is not technical or challenging, which makes it a great trail for the family.

Jordan River Parkway Road Cycling

The Jordan River Parkway is a massive network of paved trails in the greater Salt Lake City area that is perfect for road biking and walking along the Jordan River. There are dozens of trailheads that run north to south along the route that offer parks, covered picnic tables, bathrooms, pavilions and even fishing ponds. Water fowl can be seen frequently along the river, and several places have pullouts and benches that allow you to go down by the water to feed the ducks.

City Creek Canyon Road Cycling

City Creek Canyon has a wonderful paved trail that allows people of all ages to access a bit of nature right in downtown Salt Lake City. Starting at Memory Grove Park and heading north, the 1.2-mile path gently climbs alongside the meandering City Creek. Walkers and bikers are allowed, and you can bring your leashed dogs on the paved path. A small dirt path known as the Freedom Trail runs parallel to the paved path for a short while, and you may let the dogs off leash on this portion. Feel free to let them jump in the creek since this is not a watershed area.

Rich Creek + Rough and Tumbling Creek Hiking Loop

The Rich Creek and Rough and Tumbling Hiking Loop is a beautiful tour through one of Colorado's less frequented but no-less-spendid mountain ranges. While the masses flock nearby to some of the tallest and most photographed mountains in the country, Buffalo Peaks Wilderness is a solitude seeker's paradise that flies under the radar and is every bit as spectacular because of it.

Strand Hill Mountain Bike Ride

Strand Hill is a local Colorado mountain biking favorite near Crested Butte that features lung-busting climbs, grin-inducing descents, and a few technical sections to challenge advanced riders.

Laguna Mountain Recreation Area

Laguna Mountain Recreation Area is a great weekend getaway that is only a 45-minute drive from San Diego. The park is well known for it's scenery, hiking trails, campground, and ideal stargazing conditions.

Bonneville Shoreline Mountain Biking: Hilltop Road to Terrace Hill Junction

The Bonneville Shoreline Trail runs along what was once the shoreline of an inland sea known as Lake Bonneville. The trail itself actually runs, intermittently, into southern Utah County, so the trail is easily accessible over a large area. The trail maintains a low-elevation, which helps keep sections of it open nearly year round. It is relatively flat and lacks any real technical challenges, which makes it a great option for a family ride. Also, most of the trail is ridden as an out-and-back, which leaves the exact distance you ride entirely up to you.
