Louisiana has a rich and unique historical tapestry that gives the state a
feel like none other in the U.S.
Winter in the Pacific Northwest is a misty, verdant affair.
Yellowstone National Park will receive more than 4 million visits in 2019. In
July alone, the gate at West Yellowstone will admit 140,000 vehicles
shepherding 400,000 visitors. By January, the number drops to
zero automobiles and one-twelfth the visits. The automobiles are replaced by
snow coaches, snowmobiles, snowshoes, and skis.
Santa Maria Valley is an incredible hidden gem at the top of
southern California. Hosting pristine beaches full of wildlife, rolling
hills for mountain biking or hiking, scenic vineyard-side highways for
cycling, miles of boardwalks built for any visitor, and excellent ocean
fishing, Santa Maria Valley offers it all.
Mount Rainier is the most prominent and the most glaciated mountain in the
contiguous United States. Those are some serious accolades when your
competition looks like Whitney, Hood, Bachelor, Elbert, and the like.
While Lassen National Volcanic Park [1] is a day-tripper’s paradise—a
vast majority of the park’s annual visitors decide to leave before the day
is through—the mountain offers far more adventure than might appear.
Realistically, when I first heard I was heading down to Puerto Vallarta in
Mexico for an adventure itinerary, I was a little confused. Was it going to
be an epic of margaritas on the beach and poolside naps? Not what I define as
adventurous. And apparently, not what Puerto Vallarta does either.
Panama is famous for the Panama Canal, which is an impressive engineering
marvel. However, the Panama City area offers much more than that. With
incredible biodiversity, there are many hikes that offer the
opportunities to observe tropical birds and other species. The native

of life, in contrast to the large metropoli
Never been to Moab? Never even heard of it? Moab is one of southern Utah’s
greatest treasures. It is a small town surrounded by some of the best hiking
and national parks in the world. Having been countless times myself, there
are so many adventures to be had down in the red rocks that define Moab.
Telluride, that sleepy little town. The world comes alive for those who
adventure into the San Juan Mountains. Home to fine skiing and avenues that
turn into hiking trails and campgrounds within city limits, Telluride
embodies the rugged frontier mythos of the Rocky Mountains. Climb a
mountain. Pan for gold.
Summer is slipping away, and the crisp, fresh season is calling. Some say
that Yellowstone National Park [1] has two seasons: super-crazy busy and
slack. If you’re pumped from a full summer of hiking, consider heading to
Yellowstone for a fall escape full of wildlife, hillsides of fiery red
and eye-popping orange, and that ever-important trail time.
Visitors to Park City are often surprised at the summer appeal of this town
that’s well known for its winters. The doors of possibility swing wide open
when summer comes around in Utah.
