Scoggins Valley Park is actually multiple park areas that are distributed around the shores of Henry Hagg Lake.  Each has its own character, and because they are distributed around the cardinal points of the lake, each will have a different feel depending on the weather and time of day.  The two areas with boat ramps, Recreation Area A on the west bank and Recreation Area C on the east, are the most popular stops.  The smaller picnic areas are a little less used, and they include Elks Picnic area to the south and Scoggins Creek Picnic Area to the north; finally, the Sain Creek Pavillion Area is near Recreation Area C and is ideal for group gatherings.

Every area offers picnic tables, barbecues, and restrooms.  Areas A and C are larger and offer boat ramps and boat waste disposal systems as well.  Area C on the west bank is by far the most popular area.  Roughly half the area of Henry Hagg Lake is a no-wake zone, and Area C’s ramp enters this portion of the lake, making it a more popular put-in for canoes, kayaks, stand-up paddle boards and sailboats. Area A to the west is the ramp for power boats and powered personal watercraft.  Area C also has a pavilion for group gatherings, legions of picnic tables and barbecues for individual parties, and an expansive lawn that gently slopes into the lake.

Other features of the park include a 15-mile hiking and biking trail that leads around the entire lake, a 260-foot pier for fishing out of Area C, and an 18-hole disc golf course.  Area C also has a concession trailer near the boat ramp for snacks and boat rentals.
