The Pebble Beach Trail begins at the south end of Pebbles Beach and leaves in a southern direction, following a path mostly traversing lava rock until reaching a viewpoint at the top of a small climb.

Pebble Beach is a mix of black and light sand, with the beach itself being a popular snorkeling spot when the tide is calm. The trail leaves the beach and sticks to a route atop of the low cliffs. While the actual coastline winds in and out, the trail continues down a generally direct route before reaching a moderately short climb at just short of the one mile mark.

Hikers will likely encounter very few others along this trail, and while the destination might not be able to compete with other nearby hikes in the area, the elevated site does offer a good viewpoint if hiked during whale season. Views of the colorful homes dotting the subdivision hillside on the return hike are also spectacular.

Parking is available in a dirt lot near the south end of Mapuna Road. There are outhouses in the parking lot but no other amenities avaiable. Those considering a visit here should also know that the road from Mamalahoa Highway to the beach is one of the steepest on the entire island. Visitors should ensure their vehicle is capable of climbing back up to the highway following the hike.
