The Carpenter Road Trails are a series of loop trails and connecting spurs designed for intermediate and beginner skiers. They aren't groomed, but they are well marked. They are less popular than many other trail systems in the area, in part because of their lack of open vistas. However, those seeking solitude will love these trails. The trails are closed to motorized traffic, but snowmobile trails are nearby.
Much of the trail system wends its way through a mixed forest over gently rolling hills. At the southern end of the system, the Gorge Trail features steep grades and a unique gully. The Cone Trail traverses trough blocks of Japanese larch, white spruce, and red pine. This is one of the first trails to lose snow, but the Return Trail to the west is more shaded and holds snow longer. The connection between the Snow Ridge Loop and the Mill Creek/Jacks Track Loop has a bridge out, requiring the Snow Ridge Loop to be accessed from parking areas to the south on Route 12 or the Slivka Road.
