Egypt Road Ski Trails

The Egypt Road Trails are a part of the Black River Environmental Improvement Association network of multi-use recreation trails in the southern Black River Valley. They are groomed frequently, free to use, and open for use as hiking and biking trails in the summer and fall. They feature a wide variety of trail types, from rolling meadows to steep gully descents. A warming hut is available at the upper trailhead.

From the Upper Trailhead, skiers can enjoy the gently rolling Glacier Trail as it meanders through meadows and open hardwood forests. The initial descent shortly after leaving the parking area is one of the steepest. Continuing east links to the Great Trail, and several shorter loops are also accessible from the Lower Trailhead. 

Those looking for steeper terrain can cross the road toward the warming hut following the Rim Trail toward any one of four Gully Trails, all of which drop abruptly toward the Alder Creek riverbed. Once at the bottom, skiers can follow the Creek View Trail to its connection with the Rim Trail and back to the trailhead. It's also possible to link to the lower loops.
