Big Cove Campground is located within Tennessee's 24,000 acre Frozen Head State Park and Natural Area. This remote area along the Cumberland Plateau is famous for its rugged and beautiful mountainous terrain. Big Cove Campground allows campers easy access to this park and the many miles of hiking trails found within.

Big Cove Campground consists of 20 campsites including 2 group sites that can hold 15-20 people. The campsites here are rustic feeling and lack amenities such as electric and water hookups. There is, however, a bathhouse with restrooms and hot showers, as well as a water faucet and sink basin for dish washing.

Campsites #14-20 are located near the river and offer a little more seclusion than the other sites. In addition, there are also eight primitive campsites available in the Flat Fork Primitive Group Site Area. For those looking to tent camp this is another option. Lastly, there are 10 backcountry campsites within Frozen Head State Park. Backpackers may reserve these sites online ahead of their visit.
