The Nature Trail is a short hike that is close to the campground area of La Pine State Park. This trail connects with the Deschutes River Loop Trail for a short segment and leads alongside the namesake river. The Nature Trail is .7 mile one way, but can easily be made into a 1 mile loop by walking through the campground area.

To begin the Nature Trail you can start from the campground. You’ll want to locate the start of the trail (between the north and middle campground loops) that heads east toward the river.

The Nature Trail then parallels near the Deschutes River for most of its length. There are a handful of places you can access the water.

Keep an eye out for the next junction and take the Nature Trail to the right. This leads back to the south loop of the campground.

Continue walking through the campground to wherever you first began the trail.
