Located 45 minutes south of Washington, D.C., the campsites at Leesylvania State Park offer a chance to escape the hustle and bustle of the city. The campsites are secluded and have limited access. The campground only has a total of five sites: one large group campsite and four individual campsites for paddle-in users only. Firewood is provided at each site and reservations are required for all sites.

The group site is only available to special groups (Boy Scouts and company retreats, among others) and is located in a field at the southern end of the state park. The camping pad contains several picnic tables, benches, running water, and a large fire pit with a grill top. There is plenty of room for recreational activities in the large field adjacent to the campsite.

The individual sites are only for those arriving at the park by means of canoe or kayak. These sites are located right near a small boat launch. Each pad includes a picnic table, a fire ring with grill top, and a lantern hook. All tents and gear must stay inside of the camping pad. Kayak and canoe overnight storage is also on-site.

All campsites are within walking distance from all the activities the park has to offer. Leesylvania State Park has great fishing, swimming areas with beaches, and several hiking and historical trails. There is a large picnic area with tables, shelters, grills, hammocks, and multiple playgrounds. The park also has a large boat ramp with docks and a store with gas, ice, bait, and snacks. Other nearby attractions include Mason Neck State Park and Prince William Forest Park.
