On Saturday, July 14, Outdoor Project hosted our third annual Denver Summer Block Party Festival with Denver Beer Co. With over 4,000 people attending the event, we had a wonderful time connecting with the Denver community around great beer, delicious food, live music, the best gear, and awesome opportunities for getting outside!

Eleven national, regional, and local vendors were on site to help gear people up and make their outdoor adventure dreams come true. Sierra Designs was running a contest to see who could put up a tent the fastest, you could spin the wheel of chance at KEEN to take home a prize right there or enter to win a pair of shoes, and you could choose what patch you wanted (including an Outdoor Project buffalo logo!) on your sweet new hat from Cirque Mountain Apparel. Over $3,300 in prizes were donated to the on-site and online giveaways, which was a definite highlight of the event. A big thank you to the following vendor partners for bringing SWAG, games, challenges, and, of course, for showing off their great gear for everyone’s next adventure:

Strange Hotels helped bring the party to a new level by playing a mix of tunes from disco-inspired to world beat instrumental. They were followed by Sam Ravenna’s soul/funk sound that got the crowd dancing until after 9 p.m.

Proceeds from our Stanley pint cup sales, as well as a percentage of beer sales from Denver Beer Co., are going to this year's nonprofit partner, Environmental Learning for Kids (ELK), and our national nonprofit partner, 1% for the Planet. ELK is a Denver-local nonprofit working to change the lives of underserved youth through leadership, mentoring, and adventure in Colorado. Donations, both from vendors and from people attending the festival, also helped to support these nonprofits and raise awareness about the great work they are doing.

Thank you for celebrating summer with us in Denver! We look forward to seeing you all at another Outdoor Project Summer Block Party Festival. We have events in Salt Lake City, San Diego, Minneapolis, Brooklyn, and Charleston coming up, so start planning those adventures now!
