Lake Louise: Back of the Lake

Back of the Lake is Banff National Park's premier rock climbing destination. Ultra classic routes are spread across a Quartzite Band on the opposite end of Lake Louise. It is a quick walk to get there, and the crag offers something for everyone. Get here early though, because the parking lot fills up quickly. If you arrive after 9 a.m., just save yourself the hassle and park at the overflow lot outside of town.

Mundo Nuevo to Pozo Azul to Minca Loop

This adventure offers a strenuous hike with a relaxing finish at the hostel and farm of Mundo Nuevo. The journey starts from, Santa Marta, the oldest colonial city in Colombia. Take a colectivo to the small and quaint town of Minca. Once in town take the road directly in front of the police station. It is possible to hire a driver up to the hostel if needed. If you are walking, the road forks a couple of times; if you feel lost, just ask one of the kind locals for direction to Mundo Nuevo.

Silver Falls Creek / Choprock Canyon Loop

Grand Staircase Escalante National Monument is a massive area of wild, harsh, and beautiful land. This area of well over 1 million acres holds some of the wildest and most pristine wilderness that the Lower 48 states have to offer. One could easily spend a lifetime in this region, exploring the infinite amount of canyons and drainages that all have their unique character.

Peet's Hill + Burke Park

Peet’s Hill and Burke Park are undoubtedly the most popular year round outdoor spaces in downtown Bozeman. Situated just off Main Street, the 41-acre park has several miles of trails that are part of the Main Street to Mountains Trail System. Peet’s Hill and Burke Park are a trail hub for many mountain bikers, runners, and dog walkers. In the winter, kids and adults alike flock to Peet’s Hill to sled down its steep slopes. In the spring, the hill blooms with colors from native wildflowers.

Elfin Lakes Mountain Biking

The trail to Elfin Lakes is mostly known as a popular hiking trail, and it offers a lot of access options throughout the year. There is snowshoeing and skiing in the winter, backcountry camping or overnight in the hut all year long. Additionally, this trail is the only trail in Garibaldi Provincial Park that is open to mountain biking.

Shiawassee River Trail: Fenton to Linden

The Shiawassee River Watershed meanders through 6 counties in Michigan, from the Detroit suburbs to the Saginaw River and eventually the Saginaw Bay of Lake Huron for a grand total of 110 miles in length. The Shiawassee River Heritage Water Trail begins in the village of Holly and ends in the town of Argentine.

Ichetucknee + Blue Hole Springs

Little River Springs Park

Little River Spring Park is a county park with a large spring swimming hole that flows a short distance into the Suwannee River. The parking lot has a few benches to for scuba divers to use, and there is access to a short loop nature trail. From the parking area, a concrete path passes a few interpretive signs and either follows a ramp to some covered benches and access to the Suwannee River to the left or heads to a viewing platform overlooking the spring run's confluence with the Suwannee to the right.
