The South Meadows Community Pond Loop is a lollipop loop path that begins from the only dedicated parking area just off of Double Diamond Parkway. Aside from this private parking lot, the only immediate access points to the trail are from some of the residential developments along the path, so this tends to see more dog walkers and joggers in the late afternoon than any other type of users.

The accessible path follows a waterway downstream from the pond, which can be a bit dirty, but is also home to a variety of bird species which you might see if you're patient.

Upon reaching the pond, the trail is a generally level loop path around it with some grass and trees and a couple picturesque small bridges crossings over streams. Turtles, geese, and egrets are some of the fauna you will likely see while on this trail.

In short, this hike is a simple lollipop loop spanning 1.4 miles on paved accessible path, but offers a breath of fresh air immediately nearby some of the south Reno development.
