Bang Saray Beach is a public beach that presents a much quieter, cleaner and inviting alternative to the more urban beach environs of Pattaya to the north.
Retaining some of its former fishing village charm while the resorts and sprawl of Pattaya slowly stretch down to its shores, Bang Saray is a stretch of narrow sandy beach wedged between the narrow road lined with food vendors and the warm waters of the Gulf of Thailand. Along the sand, locals fish and set up tents and chairs which they'll gladly rent use of to visitors, while a colorful array of anchored fishing boats dot the water's surface not far from shore. Though the water isn't clear, this is about the best area beach for a swim short of heading out to the nearby islands.
More upscale restaurants and beach clubs sit along the southwestern stretch of the beach on the opposite side of the docks.
The laid back tone of beach here, coupled with free parking along the road, colorful warm waters and the lack of tourists make Bang Saray one of the best options for those looking to visit a beach without the noise of Pattaya's more central beaches.
There are no lifeguards here. Amenities are available from vendors along the road.
