A bike ride around the perimeter of Mission Bay Park is a great way to take a bite-sized piece out of the huge 4,600-acre park. With vistas of Fiesta Island and many different nature preserves, Mission Bay Bike Loop provides an overview of the different areas and amenities of the park.

For this ride, start by parking near the entrance of Fiesta Island. A few hundred feet south of the parking area is a kiosk that rents bikes if you haven't brought your own. Follow the bike path southwest along the water and then along the south side of Sea World. After passing the amusement park, head north on Perez Cove Way, which will turn into Ingraham Street. This route avoids traveling alongside the freeway. Ingraham Street has dedicated bike lanes and two bridges with plenty of room to pull over and look out onto the bay. Once you've crossed the bridges, veer right to stay along Crown Point Drive, then continue along Corona Oriente Road, which is the access road for Crown Point Park to the east. When Corona Oriente Road rejoins Crown Point Drive, there's a pull-off stop with signage describing the wildlife that can be found in the Robin Stribley Marsh Reserve. Crown Point Drive dead ends; turn right onto Pacific Beach Drive, which brings you over Rose Inlet, and then rejoins with Mission Bay Drive and the Mission Bay Bike Path. Follow the path along the shore, back to the starting point to complete the loop.

An 8-mile-per-hour speed limit applies to bicyclists in and around Mission Bay. Helmets are required by California Law for riders under the age of 18.

Dogs are allowed in the park in designated leash-free exercise areas or while leashed on beaches, sidewalks, and park areas in early mornings or evening hours. Check with the City of San Diego for more details.
