This fairly small primitive campground on the shore of the popular Lake Irwin is a very special place to camp. The campground borders the lake and offers easy access to swimming and paddling. The loop trail around the lake can be reached via the short path next to site #11. Many consider Lake Irwin to be one of the prettiest camping spots in the state.
Campsites are set along one loop road with sites 1 through 12 either right on the water or very close to it. There are limited amenities, with hand-pumped drinking water, no cell service and no hookups or dump station. About one quarter of the sites are first-come, first-served, and the rest can be reserved.
Due to the popularity of the campground, getting there early in the day or reserving a site ahead of time is highly recommended.
