You are here
Big Creek Campground is located in a remote eastern corner of Great Smoky Mountains National Park. There are several hiking trails nearby ranging from easy hikes along Big Creek, to more strenuous hikes including Mount Sterling and Mount Cammerer. The Big Creek area is also an optimal location for fishing, swimming, wildlife viewing and relaxing away from the crowds often found in other areas of the park.
Big Creek Campground consists of 12 tent only campsites. There aren’t many amenities here other than flushing toilets and running water. All the campsites require a short walk from the parking area, and must be reserved in advance. In addition to the tent sites there is also a group camp and horse camp just down the road.
Big Creek Campground is open seasonally. Dates differ year to year so be sure to check with Great Smoky Mountains National Park and reserve a site (required) before your visit.
