Las Palmas Public Beach is a public access beach set along the Zona Hotelera road north of the traffic roundabout. Nestled amongst the area's resorts, Las Palmas Public Beach offers a free access point to Tulum's white sand Caribbean beaches.

While beaches in Mexico are legally accessible to the public, much of the beachfront space is taken up by private beach clubs and resorts. So while anyone can walk along the sand or swim in the water in any area, the use of a club's chairs, shade structures, amenities and parking areas usually requires an admission fee or purchasing food or drinks from the club, depending on their policies.

With many of the resorts along the road fighting for customers, Las Palmas Public Beach may be easy to miss with next to no signage visible from the road. While beaches along this road are popular amongst bicyclists due to their close proximity to the town of Tulum, the public beach does offer a few parking spots along the road that is notoriously pressed for available space.

The beach has a short sandy path from the road to the shore, where visitors are likely to see the bikes of lots of other visitors locked up. While the beach itself is small, there is a sandy portion and a rocky portion, and from here it's possible to walk the beach in either direction.

Las Palmas Public Beach is open 24 hours a day. There are no lifeguards and no amenities on the beach.
