Lost Creek Falls Trail

Lost Creek Falls Trail is a short, fun, and steep journey up to a beautiful multi-tiered cascade just across Bridal Veil Falls in Provo Canyon. Much of the first half of this lesser-known trail is a straight shot up a large hill on a dirt utility road. The rocky ascent becomes much more dynamic as you make your way into Lost Canyon.

Mount Katahdin: Abol Slide Trail

Mount Katahdin and the allure of the beautiful and remote Baxter State Park are undeniable for thousands of people every year, but few dare to set out on the highest peak in Maine during the winter. The remoteness and red tape within Baxter mean that extensive prior planning is absolutely crucial to a safe and legal trip, but the reward is some of the most beautiful and incredible winter mountaineering in the northeastern U.S.

Blood Mountain via Woody Gap

Blood Mountain lies in the heart of the Georgia's Chattahoochee National Forest and is a popular attraction for day hikes out of Atlanta. The popular but shorter ascent from U.S. Highway 19 makes a great day hike via the Freeman Trail loop, although parking is usually congested on summer weekends. For a longer hike, a different approach from the west side of the mountain adds more miles, extra elevation gain, and more scenery.

Irondequoit Bay Park West

This Monroe County Park is located on the West shore of Irondequoit Bay, about an 8-minute drive from downtown Rochester. There is a small boat launch but the star of the show is the trail network that threads through lush woodlands and rolling hills.

Rim to Rim Hike

The Rim to Rim hike in Grand Canyon National Park is an epic hike that should be on everyone's bucket list. As amazing as the canyon views are from the South Rim, there is simply no better way to experience the magnitude and remarkable intricacies of this place without exploring below the rim. And the best way to do this is to hike straight through from the South Rim to the North Rim. Although there can be some red tape to deal with (more on that later), it is undoubtedly worth it.

Kilimanjaro: A Dying Glacier on the Roof of Africa

Mount Toubkal from Imlil

Jbel Toubkal is the tallest mountain in the Atlas range and North Africa. From its summit, a view on a clear day stretches from the Atlantic and Marrakech all the way to the Sahara Desert and into Algeria. This hike from Imlil is strenuous, but can be broken up into two or more days, either by camping or by staying at one of the refugios along the way.

Snowmass Lake Trail

Nestled deep in the heart of Colorado, Snowmass Lake offers stunning views with some of the prisine water in Colorado. Snowmass Lake offers crystal clear water with and a chance to take a break from work and go out and enjoy the wilderness. Snowmass lake trailhead can be tough to get to after a shower or snowstrorm if you want to try this adventure in the winter, so having four wheel drive will help you on the slippery conditions and prevent you from getting stuck.

B Lot RV Park

Crystal Mountain Resort offers great terrain for skiing/snowboarding during the winter months. In one of its parking lots, B Lot, Crystal Mountain Resort allows RVs to park overnight for summer and winter excursions into the surrounding area. During the winter, wake up to beautiful winter scenery and the comforting sounds of avalanche explosives, a sign that the avalanche control team are up there making things safe. World-class skiing is just steps from your door.
