Cold Spring Trail Loop spans a 29.7-mile route located in Los Padres National Forest, northeast of Montecito, California, southeast of Santa Barbara, and 1.5 hours from Los Angeles.

Beginning and concluding at the Cold Spring Trailhead, this extensive route navigates through the Santa Ynez Mountains. It offers a vigorous trek across varied terrain, featuring the Jesusita Trail to Cathedral Peak, Gibraltar Road, and linking back via trails 28W06 and 26W10 to the Cold Spring and East Fork Cold Spring Trails. This journey promises breathtaking views, challenging climbs, and the serene beauty of the Los Padres National Forest.

Hikers will traverse the rugged backcountry, passing through dense chaparral and serene creeks, in addition to encountering more manageable terrain and shaded woodlands. The final leg of the loop, the East Fork Cold Spring Trail, offers a scenic descent through oak and bay laurel forests back to the starting point.
