Built by the BLM in 2018, this loop trail just outside the former mining town of Goodsprings offers a moderately challenging walk for those interested in elevated views of the surrounding desert mountains as well as chance to walk through an area full of mining history.

At 2.3 total miles, the loop path traces a combination of former railroad track bed which connected the Yellow Pine Mine to the town of Goodsprings, as well as heading up and down a series of semi steep slopes tracing the ridge of the hills. The pea gravel path and signage make this a clear route to follow. Joshua trees dot the landscape from the higher portions of the trail, and interpretive signage along the path offers insights into the geologic activity that formed the surrounding hills.

The downside is that there is no shade on this hike, however at nearly 1000' in elevation higher than the valley floor, the temperatures in Goodsprings are noticeably cooler than those along the I-15 corridor (which is visible from certain vista points along the hike).

Vault toilets and covered picnic benches are located at the trailhead parking area.

The only restaurant in the town of Goodsprings (and a landmark worth visiting on its own) is the Pioneer Saloon at the town's entrance.
