The country celebrates its city parks with National Take a Walk in the Park Day on March 30, and Outdoor Project has you covered with a list of the city parks you can't miss. The remote wildernesses and national parks get the spotlight for natural beauty, but city parks create an oasis escape for world-weary urbanites—and they are magnificent. They showcase the city skyline, the architecture, the history, or the botanical diversity unique to a place and a people, a living preserve of cultural heritage that can't be found or replicated on a lost trail in the mountain wilderness, or hidden in the deepest reaches of a sandstone canyon. Those places tell us who we are, but the city park is a reflection of who we build ourselves to be.
