Horsetooth Reservoir County Park is a popular destination for motorized and non-motorized boaters alike. Its 1,900 acres are especially popular with stand-up paddlers, boaters, and fishers, and Inlet Bay Campground is an especially attractive destination on the lake. A marina offers slips for annual docking, a boat ramp, and boat rentals, including both motorized (jet skis, pontoons, and group boats, among others) and non-motorized boats alike.

Located at the southern end of Horsetooth Reservoir County Park, Inlet Bay Campground offers 53 campsites for boaters and campers visiting Horsetooth Reservoir near Fort Collins. The campground is broken into northern and southern rows, each with roughly 26 campsites flanking the Horsetooth Reservoir. The northern campsites are split onto each side of the road—some along the shoreline, the others set across the road—while all of the southern row’s campsites are right next to the shore. Campsites are available by reservation, and remaining sites may be available on a first-come, first-served basis. All sites are RV-ready campsites with hookups. Campsites are large, spacious, and level, and while there is ample room to spread out, there is minimal privacy between them and little to no shade. A few of the sites include a covered picnic shelter. The amenities at Inlet Bay Campground are as lavish as any others in Horsetooth Reservoir County Park, featuring a large and well-maintained restroom and shower facility with token-operated showers.

While not included within Inlet Bay Campground, boat rentals from the marina at Inlet Bay offer the opportunity to camp at one of Horsetooth Reservoir County Park’s boat-in campsites along the western shore just north of Inlet Bay. Each of the coves along the western shore offers at least one boat-in campsite and ideal water conditions for scuba diving.

Note: Inlet Bay Campground is open from early April through the end of October. Walk-in sites are available starting March 1. Call 970.619.4570 for seasonal date specifics.
